Begin your day with a private pickup and travel to Rosetta, now known as Rashid, from Alexandria in around one hour.

Once you arrive, you will be brought to the Rashid Museum, located in one of the city's narrow, twisting lanes and one of the original, distinctively fashioned red and black brick houses. During a comprehensive guided tour of the museum, you will come across a duplicate of the Rosetta Stone, which is engraved in three different languages: Ancient Greek, Demotic, and Pharaonic. The genuine stone is presently on exhibit at the British Museum.

From here, on our way to the preserved Ottoman Homes, we'll take a walking tour through the narrow alleys and to the souq, where we can learn about the way of life there and shop for fresh bread, fruit, and vegetables, fish, and meats.
Continue exploring the city's streets and other historic house frontages to find a second residence. Remarkably elaborate, the House of Amasyali is regarded as one of the best examples.
A second trip to the Abu Shaheen Mill will reveal a trading house catering to the household and the neighborhood.

Following your tour of the homes, you and your guide will stroll a short distance to the nearby "Hanging Mosque," which is one of the few mosques in Egypt constructed on an upper level with storage spaces underneath for stores and supplies.

After that, you'll take a quick trip to the Citadel, which is located outside of the city and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. It was constructed in the year 1479 and is situated near to the Nile River. Known as Qaitbey, it was constructed as a defensive system to stave off raids from Mediterranean invaders. Spend some time ascending the citadel's defensive walls to the summit for breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and Nile rivers.

Following your visit to the Citadel, you will depart and return to Alexandria, stopping along the way for lunch and some downtime before continuing on to your cruise ship or hotel.
