Between Farafra and Kharga Oases is Dakhla Oasis, which is frequently regarded as the most picturesque. It receives water from more than 500 sources, including the surrounding countryside, magenta cliffs, and lovely lush gardens. According to anthropologists, Dakhla once had a sizable lake where numerous creatures, including bison and elephants, went to drink thousands of years ago.
The largest oasis in the Western Desert and the furthest away from Cairo is Kharga Oasis, also referred to as the Outer Oasis. It was referred to as the Oasis of Thebes in ancient Egypt and is located closest to Luxor. Surrounded by sand dunes and mountains, Kharga offers a plethora of intriguing discoveries, including a large number of fossils from extinct dinosaurs.
