Take an Egyptologist-led tour of the Kalabsha Temple and Nubian Museum to discover two lesser-known Aswan landmarks. Visit Kalabsha, an ancient temple with a view of Lake Nasser, to learn about the gods of ancient Egypt. Take in the stunning temple and learn about its reconstruction in the 1960s to protect it from Lake Nasser, which was created when Aswan’s High Dam was erected. Visit the Nubian Museum in Aswan thereafter to see a display of historic Nubian relics. See armor, ceramics, and other artifacts dating back 6,000 years, and discover how many of the exhibits were saved before Nasser’s waters inundated them.
A representative from Egypt Promotion will pick you up from your Aswani hotel so you may take a journey to the Temple of Kalabsha, which has been rebuilt on a hill close to the location of the High Dam after it has been disassembled.
Originally constructed at Kalabsha, south of Aswan, by Toutmosis II and Amenophis II, this temple was repaired during the Roman invasion. The much-anticipated Nubian Museum, which opened in 1997, completes the journey.
Thousands of antiques that would have been lost under Lake Nasser's waters are on display in this museum. This museum is named after the ancient Egyptian word Nbu, which means "gold," in honor of the region's well-known gold mines.
Also, a variety of displays will showcase scenes from Nubian life for you to enjoy.
