Spend a day traveling north from Luxor to witness two of Egypt’s most comprehensive temples. The underworld god of ancient Egypt is honored in the Abydos Temple. The Dendara Temple of Hathor may be the best preserved in all of Egypt, with walls that still display their original hue.
After being picked up from your Luxor hotel, begin your exploration of the historical sights. Your first destination will be Abydos, which many Egyptians thought to be the underworld god's tomb.
Known as the temple of Seti I, it was constructed by King Seti I and finished by King Ramsess II. It is situated in the Sohag Government of the city of Abydos, 135 kilometers from Luxor, and roughly 420 kilometers south of Cairo.
One of Egypt's most exquisitely preserved sets of murals is those of the gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple in Abydos.
Proceed to Dendera to pay a visit to the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of joy and love.
