On a private tour departing from Aswan, explore the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo with your very own Egyptologist guide. Enjoy a private, air-conditioned car ride to these two immaculate temples, and during your tour, receive undivided attention from your guide. Explore the riverbank Kom Ombo, devoted to the gods of the crocodile and falcon, and take in Edfu, the best preserved of Egypt’s historic temples.
This private day tour from Aswan will take you to see the unique riverside temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu as well as the stunning Nile. Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in the early morning in a private vehicle.
The Kom Ombo City will be the first place visited. The 'double' style of the edifice makes it unusual. It was devoted to two gods, Horus and God Sobek.
After your visit, continue your journey to Edfu by crossing the west bank of the Nile and visiting the Temple of Edfu, which is devoted to Horus. Edfu is home to the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus as well as a historic settlement that was formerly known as Apollonopolis Magna during the Greco-Roman era.
The Temple served as both the second Nome of Upper Egypt and the hub of the worship of a trio of deities: Horus of Behdet, Hathor, and Hor-Sama-Tawy, their son. Edfu was referred Egypt as "Apollopolis Magna" in ancient Greek writings because the Greeks associated Horus with their god Apollo.
Once you conclude your excursion, return by car to your Aswan accommodation.
