Located around two hours’ drive from the Marsa Alam airport, Wadi El Gemal National Park, also known as the “Valley of the Camels,” is a vast coastal desert region situated 45 km south of Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. Prehistoric rock art, Ptolemaic and Roman ruins, and the “Mons Smaragdus” mountain, which formerly supported tiny ancient Egyptian mining settlements, may all be found within the park.
About 45 km to the south of Marsa Alam is the Wadi El Gemal National Park. Because of its rich archaeological monuments and unique ecosystem, Wadi El Gemal National Park has become one of Egypt's most fascinating locations. Why not travel across the Eastern Desert's sand dunes in style and experience an exhilarating ride in a Jeep? You can take in a tonne of breathtaking, expansive vistas of the countryside while you're driving. The Ababda tribe's Bedouin hamlet resides within the valley itself. The emerald mines of Queen Cleopatra, where some relics have been preserved in the shape of mine shafts and temple ruins, are also close to Wadi El Gamal.
